This Jim Beam product is aged a little longer, 10 years, for this expression. Named after Master distiller Basil Hayden Sr, who’s picture is on Old Grand-dad bottles with the same mashbill.

Smell:
Oakey with tropical oranges drizzled with caramel dipped in butter made from corn.
Taste:
Oak, pecans mixed with rye seeds.
Finish: Hot 4
Full mouth that goes to your tongue with a lingering oak and nutty spice as a medium lingering.
Notes:
The longer aging changes the original BH into something more worthy. Not overwhelming and a still smooth balance puts this into a more complex bourbon I think Jim Beam was going for. I would love to taste a higher proof. Not easy to find since it is a limited annual release, so pick one up.
